Yoga that fits you, not the other way around

If you've thought about trying yoga but aren't sure a standard class would be right for you — or you'd simply prefer more individual attention - private yoga classes give you the space to practise in a way that feels comfortable, supportive and personal.

Your sessions are shaped around you: your body, your experience, how you're feeling and what you'd like to get from your practice. We can use gentle mat-based or chair-based movement, adapting poses and exercises so you don't have to worry about keeping up with a class or doing things in a particular way.

Bespoke, private yoga classes may be a good fit if you:

  • Are completely new to yoga and would like individual guidance to get started

  • Want movement tailored to your body, mobility, ability and personal goals

  • Live with ME/CFS or another chronic or long-term health condition and need a more adaptable approach

  • Experience fatigue, fluctuating symptoms or limited energy that can make regular classes difficult to manage

  • Have reduced mobility, stiffness or balance concerns and would benefit from individual support

  • Are returning to movement after illness, injury, surgery or a period of reduced activity

  • Feel nervous about exercise or worry about keeping up in a group class

  • Want the flexibility to use chair-based, mat-based or adapted movement depending on what works for you

  • Prefer to learn and move at your own pace, with space to pause, rest or adapt when needed

  • Would like to practise privately on your own, with a partner, friend or your own small group

Rather than fitting yourself into a set class, we'll create a practice that meets you where you are: giving you the time, support and individual attention to move with greater confidence.

Benefits of personalised yoga created specifically with you in mind

Move With More Confidence in Everyday Life

Your private sessions can focus on the areas that matter most to you, whether that's improving balance and flexibility, maintaining mobility, feeling steadier on your feet or simply becoming more comfortable with movement.

Because you're not following a set class, movements can be adapted to your current ability and how you're feeling on the day, using the chair, mat or supported standing work as appropriate.

Support Mobility, Flexibility & Gentle Strength

Slow, considered movement can help support joint mobility, flexibility and gentle strength without making intensity or performance the goal.

Your sessions can be shaped around your starting point and what you'd like to work towards, with time to explore movements, make adjustments and find options that feel more manageable for your body.

This individual approach can be particularly valuable if you're living with a chronic health condition, experiencing fatigue or fluctuating symptoms, returning to movement after illness or simply finding that conventional classes don't give you the flexibility you need.

Feel Calmer, More Settled & Connected to Your Body

Private sessions aren't about squeezing as much movement as possible into the time we have together.

We can include breathing practices, quieter movement and moments of rest, giving you space to notice how your body is responding and adjust your practice accordingly.

The aim is for movement to feel supportive rather than something you have to push through — helping you finish your practice feeling more comfortable, grounded and confident in working with your body.

What to Expect From Your Private Yoga Classes

Movement tailored to you

Your sessions are designed around you rather than following a set class plan. Depending on your needs, preferences and how you're feeling that day, we can use gentle mat-based, chair-based or supported standing movement, with plenty of options and adaptations along the way.

There's no expectation to move in a particular way or keep pace with anyone else. We work at a pace that gives you time to notice how movement feels and find what works best for your body.

Breath & Body Awareness

Breathing practices and body awareness can be woven naturally into your sessions, helping you slow things down, notice how your body is responding and bring more awareness to your movement.

There's always space to pause, rest or change direction when you need to — particularly helpful if your energy, mobility or symptoms can vary from day to day. You can also take these simple practices away with you to use whenever helpful in everyday life.

Calm, Support & Flexibility

There's no pressure to push through discomfort, complete every movement or perform poses perfectly. Private sessions allow freedom to adapt and modify as we go, spend longer utilising props, take more rest or do less than originally planned.

You're encouraged to listen to what your body needs and make choices that feel right for you throughout the session. The focus is on working with your body as it is that day, rather than expecting your body to fit the practice.

A Note on What These Classes Are Not

These sessions are designed around gentle, personalised movement, not intensity, performance or pushing your body beyond its limits. If you're looking for vigorous exercise, advanced yoga poses or expect classes to provide medical treatment or clinical rehabilitation, these sessions may not be the right fit.

For those living with ME/CFS or other energy-limiting conditions, it's important to understand that even gentle movement can sometimes trigger post-exertional malaise (PEM). Sessions can be adapted to your individual circumstances but movement isn't always appropriate, and rest may be the better choice.

If you're unsure whether private yoga would be suitable for you, you're very welcome to get in touch for a friendly, no-obligation chat.

You are always encouraged to speak with your healthcare professional before starting a new movement or exercise activity, particularly if you have medical concerns, an ongoing health condition or are recovering from illness or surgery.

Meet Becky

Hi, I'm Becky, a yoga teacher, certified Health & Wellbeing Coach and founder of Wellbeing For ME.

Before becoming a yoga teacher, I worked as a primary school teacher, including supporting pupils with additional needs. That experience continues to shape how I teach today, with an emphasis on clear guidance, adaptability and helping people feel comfortable and confident.

Alongside my yoga teacher training, I've completed additional CPD in chair yoga, broadening the ways I can make yoga accessible to people with different needs, abilities and energy levels.

I also live with ME/CFS so my approach isn't shaped by training and theory alone. I understand firsthand what it means to rethink your relationship with movement, adapt to changing energy levels and find approaches that work with your body rather than against it.

Together, these experiences shape how I teach, with an emphasis on creating a welcoming, supportive space where you can explore yoga at your own pace, without pressure to achieve particular poses or meet anyone else's expectations.

Becky, founder of Wellbeing for ME, certified Health and Wellbeing Coach and yoga teacher, in a calm relaxed setting.

Whether you're completely new to yoga, returning after a break or simply looking for a more personalised experience, I'd love to help you explore what yoga could look like for you.

What People Have Said About Classes I've Taught

“You were clear on your instructions and did everything with a lovely smile. You gave alternatives if anyone needed help with a movement and checked with everyone if they could hear you.”

Val

“I enjoyed Becky’s chair yoga sessions, she has a friendly, outgoing personality. Her instructions were clear, she stressed to only go as far as the individual felt comfortable. I felt my entire body had been exercised and stretched with no adverse reactions afterwards.”

Rosemary

“I really enjoyed your class. You gave good, clear instructions and are a very pleasant young lady well suited to teaching.”

Classes tailored to you

We'll decide what you'd like to focus on and shape your sessions around your body, experience, energy and goals. Your practice can include chair-based, mat-based or supported standing movement, with flexibility to adapt along the way.

Move in a way that works for you

Enjoy having the time and space to explore movement at your own pace, with individual guidance and support. As we continue, your sessions can evolve with you, responding to what you need rather than following a fixed class plan.

Designed With Care and Accessibility in Mind

One of the most common worries before joining a new class is: "What if I can't keep up?"

My yoga classes are specifically designed to remove much of that pressure through the use of props and modifications. Using the chair for support allows movement to feel more stable, accessible and adaptable for a wide range of abilities and energy levels.

You are always welcome to pause and rest, adapt movements, move more slowly or skip anything that does not feel right for your body on the day. The grounding and breathing practices woven into every class give you something to return to in those moments, a way of staying present and comfortable even when movement feels like too much.

The focus is not on performance. It is on helping you move and breathe in a way that feels supportive, sustainable and genuinely manageable for where you are right now.

Frequently Asked Questions About Private and Bespoke yoga classes

Do I need previous yoga experience?

No, you don't need previous yoga experience. These classes can be beginner friendly and welcoming for anyone new to yoga or movement classes. Whether you are managing a health condition, returning to movement after a break or simply looking for a gentler and more accessible approach, you are warmly welcome exactly as you are.

Do I need to get down onto the floor?

No, I have taken additional CPD in chair yoga so my classes can be chair-based and designed around seated and supported movement where there is no need to get up and down from the floor. If appropriate, the chair will be used as a support for some standing movement and balance. Alternatively, if the mat is accessible to you for some of the class, I can incorporate both mat and chair based asana.

Are these classes suitable for people with on-going health conditions, limited mobility or balance concerns?

Absolutely! Classes can be designed to support gentler movement and may feel helpful for people experiencing joint & muscle stiffness, arthritis, reduced flexibility, balance concerns, Parkinson's, stroke recovery or those returning to movement gradually after illness or surgery. Everyone's situation is different so you are always welcome to get in touch before booking if you have specific questions.

Do I need to attend every week?

No, there is no requirement to commit to attending every week. You are welcome to book one class or a series of sessions which can be taken over an agreed period of time.

What should I wear?

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing you can move easily in - nothing special needed. For footwear, socks with grip or bare feet work best as we include some gentle work through the feet and toes. You may also want to bring a blanket for savasana (relaxation) at the end of the class, although I can provide these if requested in advance.

What if I need to rest during class?

Rest is always encouraged. You are welcome to pause, slow down or adapt any movement whenever you need to - there is no pressure to keep up or push through. Becky lives with ME/CFS and understands the importance of pacing, rest and listening to your body.

Where are classes held?

Classes will be held at an agreed venue. We can discuss the size and type of venue you prefer and I can suggest various options. Hire charges vary and will be built into your private yoga class quote. Alternatively, online via Zoom is available.

Is the venue accessible?

I always try to keep accessibility at the forefront of my mind with venues and I will discuss this with you during a Discovery Call or email. If you prefer to stay at home for your bespoke yoga class you are welcome to do so and I can hold the class via Zoom. I can run through a few common sense health & safety considerations with you around how to set up your space for the class, if you choose this option

Is there parking available?

This is dependent on your chosen venue and I can tell you more during a Discovery Call or email enquiry.

How is this different from a regular yoga class?

Unlike a regular group yoga class, where everyone follows a shared practice, private yoga sessions are designed entirely around you, your individual needs, preferences and goals.

Whether you're looking to improve strength, mobility and confidence, explore gentle movement, support relaxation or simply make time for yourself, your sessions can incorporate chair yoga, gentle mat-based yoga, restorative yoga or a combination of approaches. Each practice is personalised to suit your abilities, experience and how you're feeling on the day.

With dedicated one-to-one guidance (or a private session shared with a small group of your choosing), there's time to ask questions, explore adaptations and progress at your own pace. Rather than having to fit yourself around a yoga class, the yoga class is designed to fit around you.

How and when do I pay?

Payment is to be made before the class. You can pay by bank transfer or Becky can send you a payment link if you prefer to pay by card.
